Bhavana Balsavar to show negative side in ‘Waaris’

Mumbai, Oct 7 (IANS) Actress Bhavana Balsavar, who is known for her sweet and happy-go-lucky image onscreen, will next be seen playing a negative character named Raseela in popular TV show "Waaris".

Bhavana, best known for her roles in shows like "Dekh Bhai Dekh", "Gutur Gu" and "Satrangee Sasural", will be seen as Jagan's (Akshay Dogra) mother-in-law in the show.

"I was very sceptical before I chose this role but then the channel always explores unique concepts in their shows, so I thought I should be a part of this. Though I have played a grey character before, this one is different from the previous ones as it's a bit more manipulative," Bhavana said in a statement.

Also, since her character is Bihari, she had to catch on to the accent.

"It was new for me. As I have lot of Bihari friends, it became quite easy for me to get into the character," she added.

"Waaris", aired on &TV, is based on cultural issues and shows a mother (Aarti Singh) bringing up a girl child as a boy.
