Kolkata, Oct 4 (IANS) A two-day conference of state Power Ministers will start from Friday at Gujarat's Vadodara to review various schemes and programmes pertaining to energy and mines sector, an official statement said.
The conference, which will be inaugurated by Union Power Minister Piyush Goyal, is to be organised on the sidelines of the International Energy Conference-SWITCH Global Expo organised by the Gujarat government, said an Union Power Ministry statement.
Ministers and Secretaries of the states and union territories and senior officials of the coal, power, renewable energy and mines sectors and public sector undertakings under them are expected to attend the conference.
Issues such as implementation of Ujwal DISCOM Assurance Yojana (UDAY), National Electricity Plan, issues related to open access, compliance of renewable purchase obligation (RPO) by the states, policy interventions for hydro development, import substitution of coal, and many others are expected to be discussed.
