Police kill criminal in Delhi

New Delhi, Sep 28 (IANS) Police shot dead a 25-year-old criminal in a shootout here on Wednesday morning but two accomplices in the car escaped, police said.

The dead man was identified as Abhishek.

According to police, a constable tried to stop the car in which the three were travelling around 4 a.m. in Uttam Nagar in west Delhi. But they opened fire.

"One person died in the encounter," Deputy Commissioner of Police M.N. Tiwari told IANS.

"We have located the stolen vehicle from Kulasi village in Bahadurgarh (in Haryana)," he added.
