Bansal's suicide note names DIG who bragged about being 'Amit Shah's man'

New Delhi, Sep 28 (IANS) Suspended bureaucrat B.K. Bansal alleged in his suicide note that CBI officers not only tortured him but also tortured his wife and daughter which drove the four Bansal family members to suicide.

The suicide note -- a copy of which was available on Twitter -- names a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) Deputy Inspector General (DIG)-rank officer and cites him as claiming that he was Bhratiya Janata Party president "Amit Shah's man".

"DIG had said, I am Amit Shah's man. No one can harm me," the note cites the CBI officer as bragging.

Naming DIG Sanjeev Gautam, the note adds that he ordered two women officers -- Rekha Sangwan and Amrita Kaur -- to "torture" his wife and daughter.

Expressing shock, Delhi Chief Minister Kejriwal tweeted that media should tell the full story of the Bansals.

"Absolutely shocking. Are we living in a democracy? More shocking is media's reluctance to tell full story," Kejriwal tweeted while referring to an earlier tweet that alleges "conspiracy by Amit Shah" against B.K. Bansal.

The CBI has ordered an inquiry against its officials probing a corruption case against Bansal.

Bansal and his son were on Tuesday found hanging in their east Delhi Patparganj apartment.

In the suicide note, Bansal states that apart from the two women officers who slapped and scratched his wife with their nails, a "fat havaldar" also tortured them and verbally abused them profusely.

"On June 18, 2016, DIG Sanjeev Gautam ordered a lady officer in front of me to torture 'mother and daughter' to an extent that they are as good as dead... 'Teri wife aur daughter ka wo haal kareinge ki sunne wale bhi kaamp jayeinge' (We will torture your wife and daughter to such an extent that anyone who even hears about them will shiver)," the note says.

"...DIG Sanjeev Gautam had tortured me and said that he will torture my wife and daughter to the extent that the whole family will beg for death, but they won't get it," the note alleges adding that the torture led them to commit suicide.

"Even if I was at fault, why were my wife and daughter forced to commit suicide," Bansal asked in the note.

Two months ago, Bansal's wife and daughter ended their lives by hanging.

Bansal's wife Satyabala, 57, and daughter Neha, 27, committed suicide by hanging themselves on July 19 after Bansal was questioned by the CBI.
