Paralympic body insisting on ‘vague requirements’ for reinstatement: Russia

Paralympic body insisting on 'vague requirements' for reinstatement: RussiaMoscow, Sep 27 (IANS) The Russian Paralympic Committee (RPC) on Tuesday charged the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) with insisting on "vague requirements" before its membership could be reinstated.

"Today we are in the process of rebooting and we need to understand what we should be doing next since the deadline to apply for qualification tournaments ahead of the 2018 Paralympics in South Korea will soon approach," RPC First Vice President Pavel Rozhkov said, reports Tass.

"We need certain criteria from the IPC to start preparations, but they keep sending us vague requirements and also demand from us to stop legal proceedings," he said. "Otherwise, they threaten not to send us the required criteria."

On August 7, the IPC decided to bar the whole Russian Paralympic team from taking part in the 2016 Summer Paralympics. The ruling came on the heels of a report delivered earlier during the summer by the Independent Commission of the World Anti-Doping Agency.
