New Delhi, Sep 25 (IANS) Criticising the Narendra Modi government on the Uri attack, the Congress on Sunday said that it is the "weakest government on national security" so far and has no clear policy towards Pakistan.
"This is the weakest government on national security that has taken office," Congress spokesman Manish Tiwari said, accusing the Modi government of committing mistake after mistake.
"This government is committing mistakes after mistake and as the opposition it is our responsibility to pinpoint those mistakes in the national interest," he said.
Taking a dig at Prime Minister Modi, Tiwari said that instead of giving befitting reply to Pakistan, he is doling out advice to their people.
He said that those who speak against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government are accused of being anti-national and the Congress is against this.
The Congress also asked the government as to how come the cost of a Rafale fighter jet went up from around Rs 725 crore to around Rs 1,600 crore.
It said that the United Progressive Alliance government had finalised a deal to buy a French Rafale jet at Rs 725 crore, but having scrapped that deal, the Modi government signed a new deal, according to which the cost of one jet has escalated "123 per cent" to around Rs 1,600 crore.
