Los Angeles, Sep 25 (IANS) Reality TV personality Kim Kardashian says she will vote for Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton amid speculation that she is "on the fence" about voting for Donald Trump.
The 35-year-old released a statement on Saturday, making it clear that she is voting for Clinton.
It came amid a brouhaha after the influential pop culture princess was quoted as saying she was "on the fence" about casting her vote for the Republican business magnate Donald Trump, reports dailymail.co.uk.
"Without a doubt, I stand with Hillary," Kim said.
Kim added: "I'm with her. I believe Hillary will best represent our country and is the most qualified for the job. This year, I'm not just voting for myself, but also for my children, and I took that into careful consideration when I made my decision."
The statement puts a bow on a confusing controversy that sprouted when the initial quotes were published by The Evening Standard's website, citing an interview Kim did with Wonderland magazine, who subsequently said that those quotes were not included in their print or online story.
Kim said that a "quote of (her's) was released... Causing my phone to blow up by friends, family and even both candidates camps", so she was looking to "explain the context in which (she) said (she) was 'on the fence' about (her) vote."
"There was a point when I wasn't 100 per cent sure I was even going to vote in this election; I didn't want to vote blindly. But I also thought about how not voting would mean that I wasn't making my voice heard, so I decided to talk to my closest friends and family who I love and trust, to have an open conversation about politics," she said.
Kim stressed that she wanted to leave no stone unturned, making sure she received a variety of insights from trusted sources before she headed off to the ballot box.
