New Delhi, Sep 24 (IANS) The Pakistan High Commission has cancelled the "Aalishan Pakistan" exhibition owing to the strained Indo-Pak ties in the wake of Sunday's terrorist attack in Jammu & Kashmir's Uri sector.
The cancellation of the exhibition was announced through a Facebook post: "Due to the current situations between Pakistan and India, which are beyond Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP)'s control, the event planned for 2016 has been called off."
The TDAP had planned the 3rd edition of "Aalishan Pakistan" exhibition for showcasing Pak-is-tani goods in India for October after holding previous editions in 2012 and 2014.
"The environment here is not conducive for such an event. We have seen in the past how right wing parties reacted to such Pakistan events. The latest move by Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) against Pakistan artistes is a case in point," a Pakistan High Commission spokesperson said in a statement on Saturday.
