Rivalry between Backstreet Boys, *NSYNC wasn’t real

Los Angeles, Sep 18 (IANS) Singer A.J. McLean says there was never any competition between his band Backstreet Boys and *NSYNC.

While the fans of Backstreet Boys, which also consists of Nick Carter, Kevin Richardson, Howie Dorough and Brian Littrell, and former American pop band *NSYNC were divided in the 1990s, McLean says the rivalry was not real, reports usmagazine.com.

"If anything, it might've been a healthy rivalry, but there was never any competition. There was never any, you know, 'You guys s**k!'," McLean recalled.

In fact, the Backstreet Boys can't stop appreciating former *NSYNC member Justin Timberlake's latest hit "Can't stop the feeling".

"Justin's record is great. You know, it's a nice throwback," McLean said.

Richardson added that he and his sons "jam to it on the way to soccer practice. We dance in the car!"

They are also fans of Britney Spears's latest hit "Make Me..."

"Britney's song is actually really good! I heard it yesterday as I was getting my hair done and I'm like, 'It didn't even sound like Britney!'," Carter said. "I'm like, 'Good job!' I appreciate that they're able to reinvent themselves."
