New Delhi, Sep 14 (IANS) Congress President Sonia Gandhi on Wednesday greeted the nation on 'Hindi Diwas' and said that service of Hindi is the service of the country.
"Service of Hindi is service to the nation," Sonia Gandhi said in a statement here.
She also called on the youths of the country to use Hindi language in every possible way to ensure its due respect and importance in the world.
Recalling the Literature Conference of 1918, the Congress President said that "Mahatma Gandhi had termed Hindi as the language of common masses and had requested everyone to adopt it on large scale".
She also highlighted the contribution of the writers, poets, historians and scholars of Hindi for keeping the language alive till date.
