New Delhi, Sep 8 (IANS) President Pranab Mukherjee on Thursday congratulated the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) on the successful launch of the tenth flight of Indias Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle GSLV-F05, carrying an advanced weather satellite "INSAT-3DR".
"I extend my heartiest congratulations and best wishes to you and your entire team at the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) on the successful launch of GSLV-F05," Mukherjee said in a message to A. S. Kiran Kumar, Chairman of ISRO.
The president said this launch has demonstrated, yet again, India's increasing space capabilities.
"I understand this is the first operational flight of GSLV carrying an indigenously developed Cryogenic Upper Stage (CUS). This will help study weather patterns as well as support surface-level search and rescue operations," he said while conveying his greetings to all members of the team of scientists, engineers, technologists and others associated with this mission.
India successfully launched its INSAT-3DR advanced weather satellite in copy-book style using its GSLV-F05 rocket.
