New Delhi, Sep 8 (IANS) Iconic fashion store Carma, a venture of Malvika Poddar, has been revamped to present an all-new experience at Mehrauli here. It will retail creations designed by names like Suneet Verma, Payal Singhal, Vineet Bahl and more from the Indian fashion industry.
Carma was founded 25 years ago, but for the past few years it was a single designer store as Sabyasachi by Carma. Now it has been given a new avatar.
To mark the occasion and also to celebrate 25 years of the store, Poddar organised a bash that gave the fashion industry a glimpse of her vision for an Indian couture experience with top designers.
"Carma has been a landmark destination store. Today it portrays and captures the generation shift.
"The curation from design to the selection of fashion has been an exciting journey for me - from materials used in the store design to the artisan repertoire reflected in the fashion labels, there is great versatility. The Carma legacy moves forward with re-invention and imagination," Poddar said in a statement.
Carma now houses exclusive fashion collections of designers hand-picked by the lady herself, for the curated store. The first fashion show held at Carma was the launch of Suneet Varma's debut collection.
The other names to be housed at the multi-designer store are Jade by Monica and Karishma, Swati and Sunaina and Anushree Reddy.
The new space in the Carma courtyard will showcase an edit of lehengas and shall hold regular pop ups and exhibitions, thereby completing the shopping experience for appreciators of Indian couture and accessories.
