Pakistan Army Chief salutes Kashmiris ‘undaunted sight for freedom’

Islamabad, Sep 6 (IANS) Pakistan Army Chief General Raheel Sharif on Tuesday said that people of Kashmir will continue to get Islamabad's support on diplomatic front, adding that the country was strong even before, and now it has turned "unconquerable".

"I salute the people of Kashmir for their undaunted sight for freedom. Pakistan will continue to provide Kashmiris with diplomatic and moral support. Kashmir is our jugular vein," he said at Defence Day ceremony at General Headquarters, Rawalpindi.

Sharif said that it was the day to commemorate not only the martyrs of September 6 but also the sacrifices of those who bravely fought and won the unconventional war against terrorism over the last decade.

"I want to make it clear over all the enemies of Pakistan that our defence is impregnable today", he said.

In an obvious reference to India, he said, that Pakistan was completely aware of whatever overt and coverts conspiracies its enemies were hatching against it and reiterated the resolve to thwart all attempts at damaging the country.

"Pakistan knows how to keep friendships and deal with the enemies. China-Pakistan Economic Corridor is a clear example. Pakistan will deal with an iron fist with any threat to this project", he said.
