Bhopal, Sep 5 (IANS) Devotees crowded temples while many people installed idols of Lord Ganesha in their homes as Madhya Pradesh celebrated Ganesh Chaturthi with great pomp and show on Monday.
People were seen visiting the Birla temple and other temples in the capital city Bhopal since morning. Many people were seen buying Ganesha statues from the major markets in the city.
Grand Ganesha statues are being installed in public places where religious and cultural programmes related to the festival are being held.
People also thronged the Khajrana Ganesh Temple, Indore, since morning. One of the devotees donated a golden crown to the lord.
Similarly Gwalior, Jabalpur and Ujjain and other cities in the state were celebrating Ganesh Chaturthi with great fervour.
Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan wished the people on the occasion.
