"Suryadevara originally belongs to I&B ministry as he has been a newsreader in Telugu for DD and All India Radio. If he fails to the duty in the parent organisation following relieving by an order from the Delhi Lt. Governor, his move will be considered an unauthorized absence," a government source said here.
"It is natural that he returns to his parent organisation," the source said.
Delhi assembly Speaker Ram Niwas Goel has declined to relieve Suryadevara despite an order from Lt Governor Najeeb Jung, who is often engaged in a row with the AAP regime/
Goel has said Lt Governor does not have jurisdiction into assembly affairs and had subsequently also requested Prasar Bharati and I&B Ministry to extend Suryadevara's stint as the Assembly Secretary.
Prasar Bharati has declined to grant any extension to Suryadevara and asked him to report to the I&B ministry at the earliest.
"You are hereby directed to report for duty immediately," said a government order served to the official said.
A show cause notice has been also served to Suryadevara over a newspaper article written by him in June, as writing such an article has been described as an act of "violation of the Conduct Rules" of the I&B officials.
A ministry communique now has cautioned him of disciplinary action if he failed to respond within a week.
Jung has recently ordered probe into over 400 files of Delhi government and among other decisions ordered transfer and repatriation of Suryadevara.
But in a letter to the Lt Governor last week, Goel had said: "I have directed Prasanna Kumar Suryadevara to continue to discharge his duties as Secretary, Legislative Assembly, who is holding an ex-cadre position which is purely under the control of Speaker, Legislative Assembly."
