London, Sep 4 (IANS) Dimitri Seluk, agent of Manchester City Ivorian midfielder Yaya Toure, on Sunday said Spanish coach Pep Guardiola has "humiliated" his client by omitting him from Manchester City's Champions League squad.
Last Friday, Manchester City unveiled its 21-player-list for the Champions League group stage, which did not included Toure, reports Efe.
Seluk told British newspaper the Mirror that "It is Pep's decision and we must respect that. If he wins the Champions League for City this season then I will travel to England and I will say on television that Pep Guardiola is the best manager in the world".
"But if City don't win the Champions League then I hope that Pep has got the balls to say that he was wrong to humiliate a great player like Yaya," the agent added.
Toure, 33, has had no role with the Citizens since the arrival of Guardiola to the Etihad Stadium and has only played one match in the second leg of the Champions League playoff round against Steaua Bucharest.
Despite Toure's little role this season, his agent has reiterated that the player will fulfill the last year of his contract, with a weekly salary of 220,000 pound sterling ($292,000), and stressed that he will not be moving out during the winter's open transfer window.
"What I can tell you is that Yaya will spend the season at City. He will not be leaving in January. He hopes that he will get the chance to prove himself" Seluk said.
