London, Sep 4 (PTI) Veteran actress Margot Kidder has criticized filmmaker Zac Snyder's "Superman" films for wasting the Lois Lane character.
The 67-year-old actress played Lois Lane, the girlfriend of the Man of Steel, in the four 'Superman' films which starred Christopher Reeve in role of the superhero from 1978 to 1987, reported Female First.
Kidder has watched Snyder's two films which feature Henry Cavill in the lead role and is disappointed with how he has depicted Amy Adams' Lois on screen.
She feels the director has reduced the character to nothing but a damsel in distress.
"They took one of the best American actresses around, Amy Adams, and didn't give her anything to do! I mean, how stupid is that?
They made her what used to be the girlfriend, which kind of ended in the 60s with women's rights," Kidder said.
The actress feels audience will return to the original films because they are closer in essence to how Superman was depicted in the early DC Comics stories.
