Bengaluru’s Aishwarya tops Honda All Ladies race

Chennai, Sep 3 (IANS) Bengaluru racer Aishwarya Pisse edged past local girl A. Ryhana Bee to clinch the third round of the All Ladies race at round three of Honda One Make Race at the Madras Motor race track here on Saturday.

In the men's categories, Soorya P.M. dominated Race 1 of CBR 150R Novice championship while Mathana Kumar topped the CBR 250R Open race here.

In what is the first full season for the women, Aishwarya, who finished third in the second round, clocked 9.49 minutes over the four laps to grab the top honours.

Local girl Ryhana Bee, who was close on Aishwarya's heels throughout the race missed the top spot by a fraction of a second to finish second while another Chennai girl Shruthi N came third with a total time of 10.06 minutes.

Speaking to IANS, Aishwarya said, "I am really glad to come first in the third round. It's been a great first season for the women racers , with the kind of support and enthusiasm we have received."

"I have taken up racing professionally recently and such top finishes in the early part of your career really boost your morale," the 21-year old added.

Among the men, local racer Soorya topped the race of CBR 150R Novice with a timing of 9.02.2 minutes while Anish D Shetty and Mahesh Murali M finished second and third respectively.

Shetty was just a shade behind Soorya 9.02. 3 while Mahesh clocked 9.03.3 minutes to finish the top three.

In the CBR 250R Open category, Mathana Kumar and Hari Krishnan R clinched the first two podiums in the Race 1.

The race was keenly fought between the two, having Trichy's Mathana eventually ahead, with a timing of 12:20 minutes while local racer Hari finished a close second with a timing of 12:22 minutes.

Another Chennai racer Ananth Raj P clocked 12.32 minutes to emerge third in the category.
