New Delhi, Sep 1 (IANS) BJP leader Satish Upadhyay on Thursday led a protest outside Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's residence here over the alleged sex tape involving AAP leader Sandeep Kumar.
The protest took place a day after Kejriwal sacked Kumar as the Social Welfare Minister in his cabinet after the alleged sex tape surfaced.
Hundreds of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders raised slogans against the expelled minister and the Delhi government.
The police used water canons to disperse the crowd.
"There is nothing to say on this as the true face of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has been exposed in public," Upadhyay, who is the Delhi BJP unit chief, told IANS.
"They have let down the voters and people of Delhi. Delhi is feeling ashamed that they have ministers who were involved in cases of forged degree, corruption and sex tape. Now Delhi is known for corruption and misgovernance," Upadhyay added.
The BJP leader accused Kejriwal of "lying" to people of Delhi.
"Kejriwal should not lie to people of Delhi that he acted within 30 minutes after the reports were shared with him," he said, and added, "Complainant Om Prakash has alleged that he gave the sex CD of Sandeep Kumar to the party members 15 days ago, but nobody acted then."
"It reminds us of AAP worker Soni, who committed suicide after her complaint against party workers demanding sexual favours went unheard by the party officials," Upadhyay said.
"They have said that they have transparent government and they don't have any corrupt people in the party, but the fact is that their party is full of fraudesters," Upadhyay said.
"Their promise to be an option of alternate politics is all lie," he added.
