Both footballers on Friday extended their running contracts ahead of schedule until June 2021. Bellarabi extended for one year meanwhile Wendell extended his commitment for two years, reports Xinhua.
"Financially strong clubs were after both players but, they always played a central role in our planning," Leverkusen's sporting director Rudi Voeller said. "They are players with exceptional skill and a special nature. They do the team really well."
German international Bellarabi joined Leverkusen in the summer 2014 and scored 18 goals in 66 Bundesliga games. His teammate Wendell transferred to the "Werkself" in 2014 to score one goal in 54 outings.
"Here in Leverkusen I became a player of the national team, and here I have the chance to recommend myself again for the German squad," Bellarabi said.
Wendell said: "I fell very well with this team. Leverkusen is a club that can play regularly in the Champions League."
