Chennai, Aug 23 (IANS) The success of Telugu indie romantic-comedy "Pellichoopulu", which has been raved by critics and audiences alike, has raised the stakes on its lead actor Vijay Deverakonda's next release -- "Arjun Reddy".
"The success of 'Pellichoopulu' has made our film big. We've already been approached by a few distributors who have expressed interest to buy and release the film. However, I haven't accepted any offers yet as I'm keen on completing the project first," Sandeep Vanga, director of "Arjun Reddy", told IANS.
Talking about the success of "Pellichoopulu" and the pressure it has brought on him, he shared: "When I met Vijay's father recently, he told me how much expectations people will have from the film. From the trade's perspective, the release of my film is crucial because post the success of 'Pellichoopulu', Vijay market value has increased."
Having recently completed the Italy schedule, Vanga is worried about shooting on the streets of Hyderabad.
"We have two-day schedule in Hyderabad, and we have to shoot on the roads. A few months ago, nobody bothered if we shot outdoor. However, post 'Pellichoopulu', Vijay has become the darling of the masses and people will mob us if we're going to shoot with him on the streets," he said.
Also starring Jia Sharma, Sanjay Swaroop and Gopinath Bhat, the film is produced by Vanga's brother.
In the film, which will also feature dialogues in Tulu, Vijay plays a medical surgeon.
