New Delhi, Aug 23 (IANS) Arunima Sinha, the first female amputee to climb Mount Everest, was felicitated by FICCI Ladies Organisation (FLO) here on Tuesday.
FLO has already offered life membership to shuttler P.V. Sindhu, India's first women sliver medallist at the Olympics. FLO is a division of the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) and is an all-India body for women.
"A positive attitude, willpower, and determination can make a huge difference to your life. but the aim of my life is to serve handicapped persons and set up an academy for them. The royalty would be dedicated to them and even after me, they would be benefitting from it," Arunima said in a release.
"Arunima Sinha is a woman of substance, who has truly scripted her own destiny and reached the zenith of success and has proved time and again that there is no limit to human achievements," Vinita Bimbhet, president of FLO said, in the release.
"In honour of her phenomenal accomplishment, FLO is privileged to felicitate her. A fearless women, an icon of inspiration - she is a winner in the journey of life. FLO salutes her and celebrates her for all that she has achieved and all that she out to achieve in her glorious journey as a woman of great substance," she added.
"She is setting up a sports academy named Saheed Chandra Shekhar Azad Viklang Khel Academy and Prosthetic Limb Centre Society in Unnao (UP). Her autobiography is titled 'Born Again on the Mountain') in published various languages. The English version was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi."
