Kolkata, Aug 16 (IANS) Karukrit, a leading advertising agency of eastern India, on Tuesday announced its foray into the tea segment with the launch of a new group company that brought out three variants of the beverage.
"All three variants of tea will be available in West Bengal to begin with, followed by Odisha, Bihar and Jharkhand by the end of FY 2017-18," said group executive director Debasis Saha after launching the new company Karukrit Premium Agro Products (KPAP).
The company is eying a pan-India presence by 2020 and has invested over Rs 5 crore initially for this initiative.
"Moreover, tea boutiques, tea tourism, packaged drinking water, fruit drinks, soya chunks, spices and wheat-based staples are on the cards, for which we plan to invest approximately Rs 50 crore in the near future.
"In the long run, we will expand our product portfolio and also export them," he said.
KPAP has already tied up with some major tea gardens to strengthen its production capacity.
