Hull (England), Aug 13 (IANS) English Premier League (EPL) champions Leicester City began the title defence with a surprising 1-2 defeat against newly promoted Hull City in the opening match here on Saturday.
Hull opened scoring at the end of the first half by Adama Diomande. Leicester were awarded a penalty in the 47th minute and Algerian Riyad Mahrez fired it straight down the middle of the goal to equalise, reports Efe.
However, Robert Snodgrass scored the winner just 10 minutes later for Hull.
Hull got the first three points for the win, while Leicester suffered the first loss in the title defence.
