Chennai, Aug 13 (IANS) Sunil-starrer Telugu action-comedy "Jakkanna" has grossed Rs 16 crore in two weeks since its release. It has emerged as a much needed hit for the actor who has been due a success for a long time, says a trade analyst.
"Sunil can breathe a sigh of relief as 'Jakkanna' has turned out to be a profitable venture. In two weeks since its release, the film managed to gross Rs 16 crore at the box office, ending his dry spell for a hit," trade analyst Trinath told IANS.
Directed by Vamsi Krishna Akella, "Jakkanna" also stars Mannara Chopra.
Producer Sudharshan Reddy is overwhelmed by the response.
"The film opened to divided talk but slowly gained momentum from the second day. At the end of its second week, it has turned out to be a hit. I'm extremely happy with the overall response," Reddy said.
"My three-year long wait to produce a film after 'Prema Katha Chithram' has paid off with 'Jakkanna', and I hope this association with Sunil continues," he said.
