Rio de Janeiro, Aug 12 (IANS) Indian shooter Mairaj Ahmad Khan produced a creditable performance to finish 10th in the qualification round of the men's Skeet event at the Rio Olympics here on Friday.
Khan had scores of 24, 25 and 23 in the three rounds to amass a total of 72 points at the Shotgun Range of the Olympic Shooting Centre here.
The 40-year-old from Bulandshar district of Uttar Pradesh has strong chance of qualifying for the semi-finals.
Marcus Svensson of Sweden took the top spot in the qualification round while Kuwaiti shooter Abdullah Al-Rashidi, who is representing the International Olympic Association (IOA) team, finished second. Azmy Mehelba of Egypt was third.
Svensson scored 25 in each of his three rounds for a total of 75 points. Al-Rashidi (24, 25, 25) and Mehelba (25, 24, 25) had identical totals of 74 points.
