Woodland, UNICEF partnership gives fillip to Swachh BharatBhubaneswar, Aug 11 (IANS) Woodland, the country's leading outdoor apparel and shoe manufacturer, has marked its sixth year of support to Unicef's WASH (Water, Sanitation and Hygiene) programme running in schools across Odisha, an official said on Thursday.

In order to oversee the WASH programme, a team of Woodland and Unicef visited two rural schools in Odisha's Ganjam district as they have spread the projects to more remote areas in the state adding vigour to the 'Swachh Bharat' mission initiated by the central government, said a release.

Woodland managing director Harkirat Singh along with Unicef Odisha team members visited two rural schools in Ganjam district -- Bipulingi Higher Secondary School and Khandigaon Primary School.

 

They also visited Khandigaon village in the district to see the progress of the WASH programme.

"We at Woodland realise the importance of eco-consciousness and have embraced it as one of our key objectives, the Unicef campaign aligns with our pro-planet consciousness, and it is our pleasure to be able to reach out to children and families," said Singh.
