Delhi teacher booked for sexually molesting class V girl

New Delhi, Aug 11 (IANS) A 40-year-old school teacher of an MCD school has been booked for allegedly sexually molesting a class V girl in outer Delhi's Kirari area, police said on Thursday.

A senior police officer said the alleged incident took place on August 6 but the parents approached the police two days later.

"The parents approached the police on August 8, and on the same day a case was registered against the school teacher," Deputy Commissioner of Police (outer) Vikramjit Singh told IANS.

The case was registered at the Aman Vihar police station of outer Delhi.

Case was registered under Section 354 (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty) of the Indian Penal Code and POSCO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) Act, the police said.

Singh also said that the police will include some more sections after the statement of the girl is recorded in front of a Magistrate.

According to the complainant, the teacher took the girl to another room and tried to touch her inappropriately. The incident came to the notice of the parents after the girl kept on crying at her home.

The parents in their complaint also alleged that when they approached the school to complain against the teacher, the teacher misbehaved with the father of the girl and threatened to file a false case against him.
