Atletico Madrid resumes training with all players except Borja

Madrid, Aug 10 (IANS) Atletico Madrid trained on Wednesday with all footballers except striker Borja Gonzalez, who is on a leave of absence to negotiate his departure from the capital club.

Argentine head coach Diego Simeone inspected the training with all available players, including those who did not train on Tuesday like Spaniard Fernando Torres and Argentine Nico Gaitan -- both recovering from muscle stress -- and Frenchman Antoine Griezmann, who performed specific training in the pre-season after returning from his vacation, reports Efe.

Borja was given permission by the club to be absent from training for the second day so he could negotiate his future, which could see him joining Swansea City FC in the English Premier League.

Atletico are preparing for the friendly Ramon de Carranza Trophy against Cadiz CF on Friday at Estadio Ramon de Carranza stadium in the southern Spanish city.
