Indian envoy in Dhaka to meet Khaleda

Dhaka, Aug 9 (IANS) Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh Harsh Vardhan Shringla is to call on Bangladesh opposition leader and former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia in what will be their first meeting here.

Syrul Kabir Khan, an official of Khaleda's press wing, said that Shringla will meet the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) leader on Tuesday evening at her Gulshan office.

He said: "The Indian High Commissioner to Dhaka will pay a courtesy call to the BNP chairperson around 8 p.m."

According to the Daily Star, the talks are likely to figure on the country's latest political situation and the recent activities of militants and terrorists.
