The BPR&D is organising the event in coordination with the National Investigation Agency (NIA) at Vigyan Bhawan where director generals of police of states or union territories, central police organisations and the heads of crime branches, anti-terrorist squad, economic offences wing, special task forces and other investigative agencies will participate.
"The conference envisages to provide an annual national platform to all the officers of law enforcement agencies engaged in investigation tasks with the objective to discuss the latest laws, judgments and their implications for investigation and prosecution," the statement said.
"Adoption of latest technology in forensic sciences for expeditious and professional investigation, best practices followed by different investigation agencies which could be implemented by others will also be a part of conference theme," it said.
The investigating agencies will also discuss a large crime scenario including combating economic crime and organised crime, digital and technology driven crime, terrorism and legal issues relating to investigation, it said.
