London, Aug 7 (PTI) Singer-songwriter Alice Cooper says people used to think he is a satanist, but he is totally opposite to that.
The 68-year-old veteran musician's songs contain lyrics about sex, debauchery and fictional evil characters and he feels people often take his stage persona all too seriously, reported Femalefirst.
"I think in the early days it was that I was a satanist, which couldn't be more opposite of what I really was. I think people saw the make-up, the stage show, and the only thing they could equate it with was something horribly evil.
"I don't think they saw the humor in what I was doing.
Rock 'n' roll, horror and comedy are all in the bed together," Cooper said.
Meanwhile, the "Poison" hitmaker wishes he was a better guitar player.
"Learning to play the guitar properly. Now I listen to great players and think, 'Why didn't I practice?' I Mean, I can play rhythm, but I just didn't take the time to go up and down the board. I can't play as well as I'd like to play," he said.
