Warm Friday in Delhi, drizzle expected on Saturday

New Delhi, Aug 5 (IANS) With no rains as the second half of the monsoon began, Friday in Delhi remained hot and humid with the maximum temperature at 36.9 degree Celsius, three notches above the season's average. Saturday is expected to see the same weather but some areas may see a drizzle.

"The rainfall in past 24 hours remained nil, though for the season, nine percent surplus rains had been achieved," an official of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said.

The weather office predicts almost the similar weather conditions for Saturday, which is likely to see a generally cloudy sky with no rainfall.

"Drizzling is expected in some areas, as expected for Friday," said the IMD official,

The maximum temperature may hover around 37 and 28 degree Celsius respectively.

The minimum temperature on Friday was 28.6 degree Celsius, which was two notches above the average, while the maximum humidity ranged between a low of 54 per cent and a high of 82 per cent.

Thursday's maximum temperature settled at 36.7 degree Celsius, three notches above the average while the minimum was 28.5 degree Celsius, two notches below.
