New Delhi, Aug 3 (IANS) The Aam Aadmi Party on Wednesday said the BJP had gone on a witch-hunt against its MP Bhagwant Mann for his alleged breach of Parliament security.
"All the MPs of the ruling coalition, especially from the BJP, are trying to corner Mann. This is an unprecedented witch-hunt against our MP," AAP leader Ashish Khetan said.
"Mann has not done a serious crime that the parliamentary panel is taking such a long time to probe. He apologized the same day in Parliament for his act. The matter should have ended there," Khetan added.
Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan on Wednesday extended by two weeks the term of a nine-member panel set up to probe Mann's controversial video that is alleged to have violated Parliament security.
Khetan said the BJP was trying to suppress Mann's voice because he raised important issues in Parliament.
"It is shameful that there is no discussion on Dalit atrocities, corruption, inflation in Parliament while all the attention is diverted to our MP," he added.
On July 21, Mann uploaded a video on Facebook which allegedly breached Parliament's security.
