Hungarian goalkeeper Kiraly quits international footballBudapest, Aug 3 (IANS) Hungarian goalkeeper Gabor Kiraly has announced his retirement from the national football team after representing his country in 107 internationals.

Kiraly, the first ever player to play in the Euro competition after turning 40, on Tuesday announced his retirement in a statement published on his official website.

He said that his career, stretching over 34 years with 18 of those years playing with the Hungarian national team, did not pass without leaving a mark on him.

 

Kiraly further said that he is happy to have represented Hungary and supported Hungarian football to reach some of the world's top competitions.

Kiraly played in several clubs like Fulham, Crystal Palace and Hertha Berlin.
