Delhi's sex ratio at birth goes upNew Delhi, Aug 3 (IANS) Deputy Delhi Chief Minister Manish Sisodia on Wednesday said that the sex ratio at birth in Delhi has gone up from 896 females per thousand males in 2014 to 898 in 2015.

Sisodia while presenting the annual report on registration of births and deaths in Delhi for the year 2015 informed that the births registered in Delhi has increased from 3,73,693 in 2014 to 3,74,012 in 2015.

"The birth rate reduced from 20.9 per thousand population in 2014 to 20.5 in 2015," Sisodia said.

 

According to the data, the average number of births per day in 2015 was 1,025 while it was 1,024 in 2014.

Meanwhile, it was also informed that the institutional births in Delhi increased from 81.75 per cent in 2013 to 84.41 per cent in 2015.

"Out of 3.16 lakh institutional births, about 2.12 lakh total 67.2 per cent births occurred in Government Hospitals in 2015 as compared to 2.06 lakh, about 66.4 per cent births in 2014," Sisodia said.

He further pointed out that the total number of deaths registered in Delhi during 2015 were 1.25 lakh as compared to 1.21 lakh in 2014.
