The State Bank of Vietnam had instructed the agencies to review their network safety, especially online customer service, and take necessary steps to secure their IT system and databases protect and recover databases, Xinhua news agency reported.
Online security experts said customers should not take photos of cards, store them or share them on e-mail or social networks in order to safeguard their accounts and credit cards.
Users were warned to carefully check online shops before using their cards and use and regularly update anti-key logger software in their computers and mobile devices.
In 2015, about 10,000 websites of Vietnam were hacked out of which 224 were government pages.
