Indian Bank posts higher net profit

Chennai, Aug 2 (IANS) Public sector Indian Bank on Tuesday said it closed the first quarter of the current fiscal with a net profit of Rs 307.35 crore.

In a regulatory filing in BSE, the bank said it has posted a net profit of Rs 307.35 crore for the quarter ended on June 30, 2016 as compared to Rs 215.27 crore for the quarter ended on June 30, 2015.

Indian Bank earned a total income of Rs 4,512.96 crore for the quarter ended on June 30, up from Rs 4,494.53 crore earned during comparable quarter the previous year.
