Anandiben resignation offer due to AAP’s growing popularity, says Kejriwal

New Delhi, Aug 1 (IANS) Soon after Gujarat Chief Minster Anandiben Patel offered to resign, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said the development was the result of his AAP's growing popularity in the state.

"The resignation of Anandiji is the result of AAP's growing popularity in Gujarat. BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) is terribly scared," Kejriwal tweeted.

"The resignation (of Anandiben Patel) is a victory of AAP's fight against corruption in the state," said Kejriwal, who is also the national convener of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).

Anandiben's offer to resign comes a day after a massive protest by the Dalit community following the outrage over the thrashing of four Dalits over the skinning of a dead cow in the state's Una.
