6 militants killed in Afghanistan

Kabul, Aug 1 (IANS) At least six Taliban militants were killed and three others were injured on Sunday when war planes targeted a convoy of Taliban fighters in the Afghanistan's Kunduz province, a police official said.

"Acting upon intelligence report, the aircraft raided Taliban convoy in Qala-e-Zal district around afternoon killing six rebels on the spot and injured three others," Xinhua news agency quoted an official as saying.

Two Taliban vehicles were also destroyed in the strikes, the official added.
