In a memorandum to the district magistrate, Bharatiya Janata Party's city unit president Ajay Sharma alleged that the Haj House has been constructed in violation of all building by-laws on the flood plains of River Hindon.
It said that the underground pipeline of Gas Authority of India Ltd is passing near the main building which can pose a security threat, while no environment and air force clearance have been obtain by the construction agency to build such a huge complex.
Attacking the Samajwadi Party government's priorities, Sharma said that there was utter need of a college for trans-Hindon areas but it"preferred to appease a particular community in violation of building rules" and thus the BJP has decided to oppose the inauguration ceremony.
