Rains cool Delhi, more showers likely on Friday

New Delhi, July 28 (IANS) The national capital experienced a pleasant day on Thursday as rains across the city brought relief from muggy weather. The Met office forecast moderate rain on Friday.

The maximum temperature on Thursday settled at 33.5 degrees Celsius, one notch below the season's average, the Met office said.

An official said the Palam observatory received 2.1 mm rain and the Ayanagar observatory 48.8 mm.

"A cloudy sky with moderate rain is likely on Friday," said an India Meteorological Department (IMD).

The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to hover around 31 and 25 degrees respectively on Friday.

It was a cloudy Thursday morning with the minimum temperature at 26.6 degrees, a notch below the season's average, while the humidity oscillated between 95 and 67 per cent.

The maximum temperature on Wednesday settled at 30.8 degrees, four notches below the season's average. The minimum for the day was 26 degrees.
