New Delhi, July 28 (IANS) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday condoled the death of eminent writer and social activist Mahasweta Devi and described her "a voice of compassion, equality and justice."
"Mahasweta Devi wonderfully illustrated the might of the pen. A voice of compassion, equality and justice, she leaves us deeply saddened. RIP," tweeted Modi.
Mahasweta Devi died in Kolkata on Thursday following prolonged illness. She was 90.
