New Delhi, July 27 (IANS) Delhi government is planning to develop a single mobility card for all local transport such as bus and metro rail, and also working towards creating a mobile application-based bus service, an official said on Wednesday.
A member of the Dialogue and Development Commission of the Delhi government Gajendra Haldea said: "The Delhi government was looking at developing a single mobility card which could be used in any mode of local transport such as bus and metro (rail). Further, the government was also working towards creating an app-based bus service."
Observing that smart city translates into smart solutions delivered in an efficient and cost-effective manner, Haldea said: "The Government will have to play the role of a facilitator and enabler for the private sector."
Haldea said the role of private sector will be critical in creating a smart city as it will be the driving force while addressing a seminar on "ICT Solutions for Digital and Smart Delhi" organised by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry in association with the Dialogue and Development Commission of Delhi.
