Super Star Rajinikanth's Kabali has undergone a much-needed edit and the trimmed version of the movie will be screened in the theaters from Monday. There have been various reports the movies run time and the not so crisp edit work has been one of the biggest drawbacks of the film and the makers seems to have taken note of the same and are believed to have shortened the movie by about 12 minutes in the run time.

Kabali, which runs for 2 hours and 32 minutes will now have a running time of 2 hours and 20 minutes. Meanwhile according to the trade pundits, Kabali has grossed over Rs 40 crore at the Indian box office, beating Salman Khan-starrer Sultan to emerge as the highest grossing Indian film on the opening day. The film is expected to break most of the box office records set by some big Bollywood films. Though the movie has been receiving a mixed response, it does not seem to be effecting the collections at the box office.
