Skipper sets up manufacturing facility near HyderabadHyderabad, July 22 (IANS) Skipper Limited, one of the market leaders in the polymer pipes business, Friday announced its entry into south India with the setting up of its new manufacturing plant near here.

The state-of-the-art manufacturing unit near Bollaram in Medak district will produce plumbing and agriculture pipes.

Devesh Bansal, Director, Skipper told reporters that the plant spread over nearly 2.25 acres will have a manufacturing capacity of 6000 MTPA of both plumbing and agriculture pipes.

 

Production from the project's first phase is expected to begin later this month. The company has already hired over 100 employees and completed recruiting and training programmes.

"We are constantly in pursuit of innovation and have dedicated our resources to expand our cutting-edge products and value added propositions to the rest of the country," he said.

"Telangana is crucial for our growth and we are looking at achieving a substantial market share in the next few years," said Siddharth Bansal, Director, Skipper Ltd.

The company has chosen Hyderabad to target the entire southern region comprising Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Kerala.

Skipper's PVC pipes manufacturing units are currently located at Uluberia (Howrah), Guwahati, Sikandrabad and Ahmedabad.

Skipper was also involved in the mega flag project for the occasion of Telangana Formation Day last month. The company used 16 mm solid steel sheets to create the 291 feet high flag pole, whose bottom diameter was 1,800 mm.
