President’s Estate gives boost to Swachh Bharat Mission

New Delhi, July 22 (IANS) President's Estate has got a new garden waste management unit (GWMU) as part of initiatives to advance the Swachh Bharat Mission, an official statement said on Friday.

Secretary to the President, Omita Paul on Friday inaugurated a garden waste management unit in the President’s Estate as part of initiatives to advance the Swachh Bharat Mission and convert President’s Estate into a smart township.

“The GWMU system will process green waste such as fallen leaves, pruned plant material, cut grass and litter into organic compost and fuel sticks which provide smokeless energy,” it said.
