Los Angeles, July 20 (IANS) Oscar-winning actress Alicia Vikander says that there was a time when she was broke and watched Bourne films over and over again.
And now, she will be seen as prodigy hacker Heather Lee in Matt Damon-starrer "Jason Bourne". Lees key responsibility is to track down Jason Bourne and draw him out of the shadows.
But getting the role wasn't easy for her. In spite of her work in "Ex-Machina" and "The Man from U.N.C.L.E", director Paul Greengrass needed some convincing before signing her for the film. He decided to meet the actress for lunch which changed everything.
Speaking about lunch with Greengrass, Vikander said in a statement: When Paul and I met, I told him something that he probably thought I made up expressly for our meeting. But, it was the truth!
"When I first came to London, I shared a flat with three girls... We were so broke that we shared a wardrobe; we shared beds. On Sundays, when we didnt have enough money to go to the pub, we would just ask, Should we just go watch Bourne? And thats what we did. We just watched it over and over. After I had lunch with Paul, my old roommates were the first ones I called.
"Jason Bourne" is set to release in India on August 5 in 3D and 2D and will be released in English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.
