New Delhi, July 19 (IANS) The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) on Tuesday said it would issue bids for construction of roads and highways with a total length of 10,000 km by the end of the current fiscal.
The NHAI is moving faster to bid out roads and highways projects to establish suitable and perfect national connectivity and it is to achieve the intended purpose with prescribed time limit," said NHAI Chairman Raghav Chandra.
"In the current fiscal alone, 10,000 km of roads and national highways projects will be awarded for physical construction," Chandra spoke at the "National Roads and Highways Summit" - 2016, organised by PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry here.
According to Chandra, the state-run road and highways developer plans to bid out 30,000 km of roads and highways projects in the next three years under the greenfield category.
