Los Angeles, July 15 (IANS) Actress Annette Bening will receive the Gregory Peck Award for Excellence in Cinema, as chosen by the jury of the San Diego International Film Festival.
The award will be presented to Bening on September 29 at the festivals Night of the Stars tribute at the Museum of Contemporary Art in La Jolla, California, reports variety.com.
The festival is in its 15th year, and will be held from September 28 to October 2.
Bening will next be seen on screen in family drama 20th Century Women, in Michael Mayers adaptation of Anton Chekhovs book The Seagull and in Howard Hughes biopic Rules Dont Apply.
Annette Bening has captivated audiences for years with her spectacular performances, and now we couldnt be more excited to honour her this year with the Gregory Peck Award, said Tonya Mantooth, the festivals Executive and Artistic Director.
Bening has been nominated at Oscars for The Grifters, American Beauty, Being Julia and The Kids Are All Right.
